Why All The Cash?

Investment Ideas

Below is a synopsis of this investment report:

  • Investors are asking why the cash balance has risen in the Conservative Income (CI) and Conservative Income with Growth (CIwG) portfolios over the past few weeks.
  • Cash is used for operational and tactical reasons but also as a way to keep “dry powder” in order to profit from any market mispricing that may occur from spikes in volatility.
  • Current cash levels are elevated in order to accommodate an allocation change being undertaken to reduce interest rate exposure.
